Comments on Comments!

I think it’s time I gave you all  a list of  often Unspoken Rules in the world of commenting on blogs. These were written by Kim Cofino,  a teacher-librarian in an International School who blogs at Always Learning. (She’s pretty awesome in my humble opinion!)

Good comments:

  • are constructive, but not hurtful;
  • consider the author and the purpose of the post;
  • are always related to the content of the post;
  • include personal connections to what the author wrote;
  • answer a question, or add meaningful information to the content topic;
  • follow the writing process. Comments are a published piece of writing.

Any thoughts? Do these sound consistent to what you may have come up with on your own?
